Excellent cut · Lab-grown diamond
A 0.5ct lab-grown diamond stud — the one you wear from Monday to Sunday and forget to take off because it feels right either way. Studs are the most-worn jewelry category on earth for a reason: they go with everything, they go everywhere, they never ask for attention. The Starpoint is our take on the single most versatile piece in a jewelry collection. **The stone:** 0.5ct per stud (1.0ct total pair), Excellent-cut round brilliant, F color (near-colorless, top 10% of color grades), VS2 clarity (inclusions invisible without magnification). Each stone is IGI-certified individually — meaning every Starpoint pair ships with two certifications, one per ear. **About 0.5ct studs:** 0.5ct per ear is the most-requested stud size because of face proportions — larger than 0.3ct where stones start to look "too small," smaller than 0.75ct where they start to dominate a face. It's the carat weight jewelry buyers return to across price points and generations. **The setting:** Four-prong martini basket in 14k gold vermeil. The basket sits low to the ear, showing more of the diamond from the front. The prongs are polished and filed so they won't snag on clothes or hair. The post is genuine 14k gold vermeil — thick layer of solid 14k gold over sterling silver — which means it's hypoallergenic for most wearers (including those who react to nickel). **Backs:** Large-face butterfly backs (sometimes called "push backs"). Stable through sleep, exercise, and daily wear. Upgrade to screw-backs available on request for maximum security. **Why start here:** If you're buying your first real diamond piece, this is the one. Studs get more wear than any other category, and a 0.5ct stud is the carat weight you'll grow into rather than out of. They layer under helix and cartilage piercings without looking crowded. **Care:** Clean monthly with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush at the back of the stone, where sebum and product build up. Avoid sleeping with hair products fresh in your hair. Ships as a pair in a fitted presentation box with both IGI certifications.
Frequently asked
Is the diamond in the Starpoint Studs real?
Yes. Every Lamond piece uses real lab-grown diamonds — chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. The Starpoint Studs features a 0.50ct total Excellent cut, F color, VS2 clarity stone, IGI Certified.
What metal is the Starpoint Studs made from?
The Starpoint Studs is made from 14k Gold Vermeil. All Lamond pieces use solid 14k or 18k gold — never plated or filled — so they won't tarnish, fade, or turn your skin green.
Can I return the Starpoint Studs if it doesn't fit?
Yes. Lamond offers a 30-day return policy on unworn pieces. Free returns on all US orders. We also offer free resizing on rings and bracelets within the first year.
How is this different from a mined diamond?
Lab-grown diamonds have the exact same chemical and optical properties as mined diamonds — even IGI gemologists use the same grading scale for both. The difference is ours are grown in a controlled lab environment in weeks instead of being mined, which means zero environmental displacement and ~70% lower cost.
